North Pole Express and Wine Trains

Life is great, especially in December :)))! Most of you will probably agree!
I am a joyful person, always curious about what is going on around, always looking for interesting people, interesting places, things to do to make my existence more exciting.
Last week I attended the North Pole Express and Wine Trains event in Grapevine. It was something new for me, I got to know better how North Texans spend the Christmas holidays. The whole thing was about getting together with friends and family, attend a life band show and then to get for one hour and a half on the 'north pole' train, with typical Christmas music and good wine.
I enjoyed it to the maximum, I was happy like a kid!

Christmas in Austin

I won't say much in this post except the fact I had a nice Christmas this year. Friday I cooked all day traditional moldavian food, and invited over for dinner the closest friends. Saturday I went to Austin to see friends I did not see in years, to visit the capital of Texas, to check the famous 6th street on Sunday and to get some pictures there.
I hope you had a good one as well, close to the ones you love and care about; I hope Santa was generous and brought a lot of joy and happiness in your home, at the end you all have to admit this is all that matters.

I just could not, not brag about it!!!

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Christmas is magic, but I guess the most exciting part of it, at least for us girls, are the presents. I was having a talk the other day with my friend Lucia, and she was impressed by the american tradition to buy Christmas gifts for all family members and friends, and not only gifts but things that the beloved ones were dreaming about the whole year.
Like every girl, each year I have a wish list, if all the items on that list are under my Christmas tree I don't know yet, as there are still a few days left until I'll unwrap all the cute boxes out there. In the same context my Santa made a little mistake and left one of the boxes meant for me without supervision, and I found it. Like a true woman that I am, carried by curiosity I opened the box and looked in it, and guess what...., one of favorite long-time desired secret wish list item was in there! So will you please excuse my gumption and my lack of modesty but I just could not brag about it!

The White Coat

Washington and Baltimore were cold, not very cold, but still colder than Dallas, so I needed to get something warm, something that I would not have thought of acquiring in Texas. So what a better store than Zara to find easily and surely something that you like and suitable for the situation. As I walked in the store, the white coat got my attention, tried it on, liked it and bought it. Shopping is easy with me or for me, if I like something that I can afford, I get it without thinking too much. Because of this quality of mine and many others, that perhaps I'll mention in other occasions, I always thought I should have been a boy :))). Please enjoy!
P.S: I did wear it mostly the whole weekend during my trip in Maryland, but I got better pictures with it in Texas though!

In December the world is a better place!

Everybody is talking about Christmas, everybody is breathing Christmas,  the blogosphere is full of wish lists, malls are full of Santa's carrying babies on their laps, news are all about charity donations, Facebook is full of pics with Christmas trees, everybody is in charge, everybody is on mission, everybody agrees Christmas is the most beautiful holiday. All of a sudden end of November, beginning of December the world is a better place, beautiful things are happening. All of a sudden we start to think that human beings are not that bad, and probably we are not, but why do we need a holiday, a special occasion to remember we are so good, and we can do good for us and for all the others surrounding us.
So talking about Christmas and beautiful things happening, yesterday I went to Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center in Grapevine to check the thrilling, chilling, one-of-kind (as exactly mentioned on the hotel's website) holiday attraction ICE. The hotel has built an amazing indoor wonderland (as we do not have much winter in Texas to keep the ice outside) created entirely of ice sculptures featuring famous cartoons characters like Shrek, Donkey, Panda, etc.
For this amazing attraction they have invited dozens of specialists from China which have worked nearly one month, almost 12 hours a day and have crafted nearly 1 million kilograms of ice. But at the end the result was worth the effort.
I will not say more, as I thing I have said enough for this post, just enjoy the pics, the Christmas atmosphere in your cities and your souls!
