'The Caribbean San Tropez'

En: Relatively a long post, but one very close to my heart. It hosts pictures from the past 2 evenings I have dedicated to the city Old San Juan, the previous capital of Puerto Rico. Any town that reunites European architecture and a port/harbor will certainly have my heart for ever. This one has every ingredient necessary to make me fall in love with it. The Spanish colonial architecture it's amazing and it's been preserved very well: the cathedrals, the town plazas, the rectories, they all inspire the 1600's bohemian style. The port and the people's euphoria and partying in the street make the city so welcoming; this is why in one of the pictures I uploaded on facebook the other day I called it 'the Caribbean San Tropez' . Two days in a row we walked its streets, I didn't even realize it was an island, but there is a reason why they call it 'la isla del encanto', just like a mermaid it mesmerizes you. We drank authentic rum and smoked the handmade havana, well honestly I just tried it, even though there were women that seemed to enjoy it I think it's a men's thing. Well to make the long story short I'll end my tell here so you can make also a visual conclusion from the pictures below, one thing for sure I don't want to go back to Dallas now. Three more days left and I stil can't get enough. 

P.S: In the next post make place for some adrenaline while exploring the rain forest and kayaking at night in the bio-fluorescent bay (there are only 5 bays like this in the world)!

Ro: Relativ un post lung, dar unul tare drag mie. Aici vedeti poze din ultimile doua seri pe care le-am dedicat explorarii vechiului San Juan, capitala mai veche a lui Puerto-Rico. Orice oras care reuneste arhitectura de influenta europeana si un port la sigur vor avea mereu loc in inima mea. Acesta din urma are toate ingredientele necesare pentru a-mi fura sufletul si a ma face sa ma intorc aici de mai multe ori. Arhitectura coloniala spaniola e splendida si foarte bine pastrata: catedrale, centre, parohii toate inspira un aer boem de 1600, lipsesc doar rochiile de epoca si cavalerii nobili. Portul si euforia pe care o transmit localnicii si petrecerile nesfirsite de pe strada fac orasul nespus de primitor; de aia mai daunazi pe facebook i-am dat o denumire justificata de 'San Tropez al Caraibelor'. Doua seri la rind am exploatat stradelele pavate in mare parte, nici nu am realizat ca orasul e de fapt o insula care luata in totalitate a fost denumita 'la isla del encanto'. Am baut rom autentic, am tras din havana facuta chiar pe loc pe strada, de fapt eu doar am tras un puf asa de incercare, pentru ca chiar daca erau doamne care pareau sa disfrute havana, eu personal cred ca e o treaba mojiceasca. Dar in fine ca sa fac poveste mai scurta va las sa priviti pozele si sa va faceti si o concluzie vizuala, dar de un lucru va asigur in Dallas deocamdata nu vreau sa ma intorc, incerc sa il conving pe Dumitru sa mai ramanem citeva zile in plus.

P.S: In  postul urmator sper sa va aduc ceva adrenalina de la experienta din padurea tropicala si de la prima experienta de kayaking mai ales ca s-a petrecut intr-un loc fenomenal, intr-o laguna bio-fluorescenta (care la numar sunt doar 5 in lume).
