Peach Punch: Weekend getaway in Austin

Prima limba in acest post va fi cea Romana, pentru ca azi Moldova implineste 13 ani de cind a revenit la grafia latina si a readus numele corect al limbii; mandra sa o vorbesc, mandra sa o venerez!

Ro: Am avut parte de un weekend superb, spontan si activ saptamana trecuta. Am acceptat invitatia unui prieten de a-i face o surpriza prietenei lui prin a da attend la petrecerea ei de zi de nastere la un restaurant de pe Lake Travis in Austin, unul din cele mai mari puncte de atractie din Texas (am vrut sa prindem apusul, dar am ajuns prea tirziu pentru ca la iesirea din Dallas am prins traficul, asa ca atasez niste imagini de pe net).
A fost o placere reciproca pentru ca fata fiind din Ungaria, recent mutata in Texas, nu are prieteni aici cu exceptia iubitului si a fost placut surprinsa sa vada mai multe persoane.

En: Last week I had a lovely weekend very spontaneous and active. We accepted the invitation of a friend of ours to make a surprise for his girlfriend by attending her birthday party at a restaurant on Lake Travis in Austin; one of the main attraction of Texas (we wanted to catch the sunset but we were too late to leave Dallas and we caught the traffic instead, so I uploaded a couple of pics from the internet). It was a mutual pleasure, the girl is from Hungary, as she recently moved to US she doesn't have a lot of friends except her boyfriend, and she was surprised to see other people around.

Ro: Senzatia de activ si putina adrenalina a fost generat de river tubing, ceva ce nu am incercat anterior, dar care mi-a placut si la sigur voi mai incerca. E ceva tipic american, multa lume, multa bere si voie buna. Mi-a parut rau ca nu am luat macar un telefon sa facem niste poze pentru ca la un moment dat am dat de niste privelisti superbe: o liana de pe care baietii si fetele mai curajoase sareau, rate si gaste salbatice care se plimbau pe rau printre oameni fara jena, stanci din piatra cu doar cactusi pe ele, din alea ca din filmele cu Vestul Salbatic. Am avut noroc de niste batranei se pare iesiti la pensie tare ingeniosi care si-au facut o mica afacere din a sta pe malul raului la un colt dat cu camera in mana si a face poze trecatorilor; pozele ulterior se gaseau pe site-ul lor si puteau fi descarcate in varianta digitala la pretul de 3$ bucata, iata asa m-am facut cu amintiri digitale de la rau.

En: The active sensation and adrenaline rush was brought by the river tubing, an activity I haven't tried before but I would definitely repeat. It's something entertaining, typical american, lots of young people, beer and good mood. I was sorry that I didn't bring the camera or the phone with me because at some point we found some gorgeous views: boys and girls jumping from a rope in the river, ducks and gooses swimming along with the people, sharp cliffs with cactuses on them just like in the Wild West movies. The photo-memories part was saved by an ingenious old couple who had a digital camera and took pics of all the people on the river, and at the end of the day whoever wanted could buy and download them from their website.

Ro: Simbata seara nu s-a putut de petrecut fara bar-hopping pe 6th street, OMG nu am mai vazut asa ceva nici la festivaluri, strazi-rauri de oameni, inchise pentru a bloca traficul de masini si a da voie traficului de oameni. Austin, e bine stiut a fi un oras plin de tineri datorita multitudinii de universitati care genereaza o concetratie mare de tineret, dar nu m-am asteptat chiar la atatia, astia-s adevarati party-animals :D Dar un fapt curios mi s-a parut a doua zi cind am trecut pe aceleasi strazi in downtown si nu am vazut mizeria care ma asteptam sa ramana din urma atator petrecareti. Dar ulterior am realizat ca legile in Texas fac ordine, bauturi alcoolice in strada nu se permit, de aici si regula vine.

En: Saturday night was impossible without bar-hopping on 6th street. OMG I have never seen so many people on the streets before; they blocked the cars a few blocks to ease people's circulation. Austin is well known for their multitude of colleges and universities that generate a big amount of young people moving in the city, but I didn't expect that many party-animals. A curious fact I noticed the next day when passing by downtown, the same streets I saw at night, there was no trash as I was thinking would be after so many people, but then I realized that the law works in Texas: no alcoholic drinks on the streets.

Ro: M-am trezit a doua zi cu o mahmureala si o durere de cap pe care nu stiam cu ce sa o alin, nici somnul indelungat si check-outul intirziat la hotel nu au ajutat. In incercarea mea de a ma trezi pe la 1 am sunat-o pe prietena mea Olesea cu care cazusem de acord cu o zi inainte ca o vad pe ea si pe piciul ei adorabil, care la doar la 1 an jumate palavrageste si te vrajeste dintr-o singura vorba/privire. Un alt local frumos pe un alt lac, se pare ca Austinul are mai multe lacuri in imediata apropiere de oras ceea ce fac citadela mai placuta, mai putin tipic texana.

En: The next day I didn't want to wake up, even the late check out at the hotel didn't help. The main motivation was my promise I made to my friend Olesea to meet for brunch, well considering the previous night circumstances it was a late lunch. Her beautiful baby-boy made me wake-up faster, he is only one year and a half old but talks and tells so many interesting things that it steels your breath away :) We met at a restaurant on another lake, it seems Austin has several lakes in close proximity of the city which makes it look more entertaining and less Texan.
