Let the countdown begin!

En: I like beginnings, I definitely don't like endings but New Years Eve is a paradox. Everybody is happy and cheerful, because just as a normal circle it's another start that brings chances to make new resolutions and to burry the bad moments of the past year and cheer the good ones. I wish you all the happiness in the world, may the new year bring you the best moments of your life and dream high, but don't forget to include in your dreams your dearest ones. Nothing makes us feel better than sharing the accomplishments with the ones we love.

For the new year, besides the natural wishes of being healthy and successful, I wish I spent less time on Facebook and Internet overall and spend my free time more wisely. God help me!

En: The movie of this weekend... I can't decide! I have two choices, both comedies, both great according to the reviews. Below are the trailers. 

But I think the 'is that clear komrad, do svidanya..' convinced me and I'll go for the 1st one.

Winter is cool

En: Less has remained of the Christmas snow but the city decorations, the spirit and the cold. Now we have to wear coats, well I also want to, the wardrobe variation is always welcome.

But because in Texas you never know if there is going to be winter or not and shall we go for a trendy coat which can expire in 3 months, because we may not even wear it. I say it's always good to go by the classic cut as it never fades.

Today I've prepared a simple but cute look, proper for work and school in winter time.

Christmas magic

En: I really liked the way a blogger said a few days ago, I advise you to shine for holidays. I totally agree. Many of you will categorically say yes to red, the Christmas color, I say go for the colors you like the most, that make you feel your best and shine with happiness. It's Christmas Eve, and I'd like to wish you all Merry Christmas.
I hope you all find the wanted presents under the trees but most important that you get to enjoy it next to your beloved ones, gather the desired people around the dinner table because in the end a wish or a toast coming over the table from a person dear to your soul matters more than any present we've put on that wish list a month ago. 

Me personally when I make a whish-list with the things I want are mainly things I plan to buy by myself for myself. But the kind of wishes I make when I blow the candles on the cake, or when a star is falling or when toasting with my dear ones at the Christmas table are about something more than those on an ephemeral shopping list.

So girls, I wish you a gorgeous Christmas party, have your men stare at you and poor champagne all night and let your mommies spoil you with their  best recipes. Don't worry about ganing weight or working out, at the end that is why we make new year resolutions.

The movie of the weekend

En: The trailer made me thing mainly about one thing, how will we create healthy kids in an era threatened by technologies? If us the future parents are so addicted to facebook and other stuff, how will they be?

Society of women who love shoes

En: And because around holidays we tend to remember those who are less happy than us, the girls and I attended a charity event organized by the 'Society of women who love shoes'.

This is an organization that focuses it's efforts and total activity to support and prevent the women and families who are physically abused. According to the study revealed on their webpage, one in four women are physically abused. Sad but true. We went to support the concept. I personally donated a pair of shoes that I bought a few months ago but never got to wear them as well a dress and bag. I truly hope someone will get to enjoy the few things donated, at the end shoes, make us women happy but not everyone gets to buy them.

The charity events where people gather to drink champagne and have fun tend to sound banal when we talk about sad phenomenons like physical abuse. But at the end I believe that besides the raised funds and the gathered goods it is about giving an example to those who suffer. It is the 21st century outside and if a relationship doesn't work a woman can and does have the right to make a decision to go on and be happy without the person that hurts her or her kids.

Christmas lights

En: Yes, Dallas may not have the snow and ice snowflakes on the windows but we do have the Christmas spirit. Lights, music, shop displays... everything says Christmas. If last year I checked the North-pole Wine Trains and Gaylord ice show in Grapevine, yesterday I went to Frisco to check the largest choreographed holiday lights and music in North Texas.

It is gorgeous, if you are in the area go, take your friends and kids and spend a wonderful evening. It's worth the drive, because we are waiting a whole year for this amazing holiday and time flies so fast that in less than a week none of these decorations and atmosphere will be there anymore. The pictures and the video below confirm what I just said above.

I tried to fit in the multicolor popping-out decor so I put on my neon sweater (that I was bragging about for the last couple of days), a blue skirt and because it's the season of the head accessories of course a beret. That's all I've got, how do you like that :)?

Going camouflage

En: This fall we rediscover the camouflage print in glam outfits, as Andreea Raicu says. Her online magazine is one of my favorite websites from Romania. It's that spot where a woman can find information about everything from style, fashion to food and work out.
If you speak or understand Romanian I, fully, recommend you to check it out. Going back to (Army style or the Army look), we've noticed the viral tendency of having such an item being part of a chic outfit. That's what I tried to do as well. Well, I didn't go necessarily for the chic, I would call it rather a smart-casual-chic. The last attribute was brought in only by adding the ankle boots on heels. The military shirt from Zara had been on my wish-list since September, but I only managed to get it a few weeks ago. Is that kind of shirt that you can pair up with some leather leggings and pumps and be ready for club or with some jeans and tennis shoes when you need to leave the house in less than 5 minutes. Not demanding at all, but the spikes definitely (attempt or tend) to give an extra rock and rebellious look.

Into a blue sky and a trench coat!

En: A blue sky that reflects the same blue in the water. Sometimes we need a fraction of a second to realize that we live in a beautiful world....

We keep enjoying December in our Texas way, but still hating those who walk in snow at the moment.  And because temperatures keep up with my warm soul I can't give up to calm colors. The outfit is a simple one, my favorite effortless style, basic boyfriend jeans, a tucked in shirt and a beige trench coat. You may have noticed I am into plane shirts that add minimal colors to the edges, just enough to bring some contrast. Talking about contrast, how ready are you for the bloody red Christmas? I so can't wait for the next long weekend. Even though I am not totally done with the Christmas presents shopping. I promised myself this year I won't wait until the 24th to be done. Enjoy your week, 2012 it's almost done. I am not happy about time flying fast but I guess just as a normal paradox happy for whatever the new year is about to bring.

1 Year of blogging and bragging!

En: OK, anniversaries are something women typically don't forget. Well I did, I forgot about my blog's one year anniversary. On December 3rd it's been a year since I created the blog, a year since I promised to show you how to do a real peach punch drink and still didn't, a year of taking more pictures than in any other of my life, a year of sharing, of experimenting and of learning together with you how to dress.
Thank you all for your support, critique and feedback, I appreciate it all and I am waiting for more. I am not proud of every post or outfit, below I recall the ones that I like the most. Enjoy!

Passion meets beauty

En: It was Saturday, I was still sleepy that morning, when I called Lalo on my way to downtown to ask if there is any Starbucks on Main street. To my biggest disappointment he told me there was one that recently just closed. I am not a coffee drinker but that morning I was so in the mood for a sweet & hot 'fufu' drink. Arrived at Lalo's apartment still thinking about the damn caffeine  when he was like who wants a mimosa. Oh great, mimosas at 9 in the morning. I guess it worked fine for the introductory conversation with the model and the make up artist.

Below is the final result of the photo shoot I was bragging about last week. My friend Lalo continues to work on his passion and extends his portfolio with the gorgeous model Chandia.  My contribution was choosing the clothes and accessories and  style them out. Another good news, holidays are coming to Dallas too, we've got some cold temperatures this morning, -2 on Celsius. Yay, now I can feel the Christmas spirit closer!

En: Many thoughts. Sorry I don't have much to say today, maybe because it's too nice outside, maybe Christmas is too close, maybe it is too Friday to keep thinking about words...

Women steal men's ties

En: I like the idea of a women wearing a tie. You have probably noticed me wearing a bow-tie in few of my outfits. You can find them in a huge variety from polka dots to multicolors. I've never worn a tie before, but the idea tempts me.
We've all noticed that the designers trending the tie in their female collection for fall/winter 2012/2013. And I find it perfectly fine considering that they brought to the catwalk such masculine suites, with geometric and even gothic forms. Below you can see some cool examples.

I promise to exercise a bit in my closet and come with a personalized outfit. I am excited about the idea.

The front of French effortless chic

En: I had the idea of a new article section about women that inspire a while ago, but got to write about it only now. As the first row model I chose Emanuelle Alt. Some of you may ask why. Personally I think she is a true representative of all Western European Women.
Always looking impeccable, effortless, natural make-up and hair, that rocker chic style that I am crazy about. This woman inspires me, because she gets attention but not necessarily by showing off tons of jewelry and extravagant looks like Anna dello Russo, but by being simple and natural. Because of this many fashion critics and bloggers didn't believe in her when she was appointed editor in chief of Vogue France.  I think there couldn't be a better option. She later convinced everyone that her favored, 3 piece style (skinny jeans, t-shirt and blazer) does not affect the look of magazine.

Yellow sweater

En: I heard many times people around me saying yellow is my color, actually I knew it since I was a kid. I remember I was 10 years old and I had a yellow sweater that I used to wear a lot, I thought it lightened my face.

It truly did, at that time I was wearing my natural hair color - dark brown. Last winter I found this cute bright yellow at Stein Mart, now that I write the article, I remember it, because the other day a lady was asking me where did I get it from and I couldn't remember. That's the beauty of the outlets, you can find cute things at good prices. Certainly is that this bright piece got a lot of compliments all day, and me of course I liked it.

The border line of my frames is yellow too, I thought it would be a cute combination. 

Anyway enough bragging about my sweater, I wish you a sunny-happy week, just like the main color of this post. Enjoy, Christmas is very, very close.

Strictly business

En: I don't know about you but I am having a struggle every morning when it comes to putting up my daily outfit. When I was a kid my mom used to tell, get your next day outfit ready the night before. But because it's proven I am more productive when I am facing the challenge I didn't use to do what mother said but the other way around. I'd make my mornings hectic and stay for minutes in front of my closet thinking on what to choose, not that I had a lot of choices back then, but still...The situation didn't change, I do this now too.
Vogue comes to help us with a what to wear for work guide. From the start I will make a remark. Their choices are pretty pricey, but this does not mean we cannot get inspiration and ideas. At the end we all know there are plenty of brands and stores out there that offer similar models at reasonable prices.
Ro: Nu stiu cum voi, dar pentru mine diminetile devin de multe ori hectice, atunci cind vine vorba sa imi aleg outfitul zilei. Cind eram mica mama mereu imi spunea sa imi pregatesc hainele de scoala pentru a doua zi de cu seara. Si pentru ca eu sunt mult mai productiva atunci cind sunt pusa in fata provocarii desigur nu faceam asa cum spunea mama ci asteptam dimineata de a doua zi ca sa stau in fata dulapului minute intregi si sa ma enervez (nu ca as fi avut multe optiuni pe atunci). Situatia nu s-a schimbat, asa fac si acum cind tre sa aleg outfitul pentru serviciu.

Dark romance for Black Friday

En: So here are the dark items I got for Black Friday. It seems funny but I did not plan it on purpose... Anyway they say the black is a hit this season, still trying to not go black all the way, felt on this path once, I don't recommend it. I guess it happened to many of you, when you realized at some point most of all your clothes were black.

Summerish November

En: Yesterday was Thanksgiving, I bet you all know that, saw a lot of statuses on Facebook, and some of you got some pic tags. It feels nice to dedicate a day to expressing the gratitude for whatever thing or person. It's not that we need a special day to do that, we can do it everyday, but the holiday has history behind... I have a lot of reasons to show gratitude for. I truly think I am blessed for all that life gave me so far, for my family, friends, and all the life experience I've had. 

Fabulous design everyday

En: Yesterday I showed you how I decorated my room with items mainly from IKEA, today I am coming with a nice commercial spot from Fab.com It's a new interior design online shop that was released this year in September and it seems they have the cutest things ever. True it's very pricey, but amazingly cute, unique and iconic, so if not shopping at least you can get some ideas. But I have also noticed they have the vintage category where I found some cute dresses. Check it out both the website and the video. The spot is colorfully magic. I'm impressed.

Inside my boudoir

En: Decorating is one of the things I like to experiment with. I am that kind of person that needs constantly to see  beautiful things around.  The bedroom, or the boudoir as I like to call it, is one of the places I spend most of the time, so for my daily spiritual balance it has to look nice and cozy. 

Yesterday's look

En: My look from yesterday, a quick morning choice that seemed to catch attention a lot. The funniest compliment I got on it came from my friend Clara who said: you look cute as s..t! This is hilarious but that's her North Carolina sense of humor, which, I really appreciate.

Keep it warm and fun, wherever you are!

En: A coat that says love at first sight, get me or you'll regret it :D. Generally this is my shopping policy, if I like something I get it, I don't go around many times. I don't recommend impulsive shopping as sometimes it's good sometimes it's not. Some items can be moment crushes meant to just keep the closet full.

Milan & Instagram

En: It's the second time I visit Milan, but this time I explored in a different way. If last year I was eager to see the main attraction spots like Duomo, Rinascente, the Gallery, the Castle Sforzesco this time I paid attention to less important things from a tourist point of view.

Effortless & boyish

En: Greeting you from Milan and attaching some pictures from Moldova. I was telling Mom yesterday in the morning before checking in at the airport, I so love meeting them but I so hate leaving. I assume it's a pretty common feeling. This week we'll see each other more on Instagram and Facebook as there is no one around to follow me with the camera :D. Still I am planning on visually tempting you with pics of pizza, mozzarella and other Italian goodies.

Fall for Moldova

En: Sorry for the long delay in posting, but I was just too selfish enjoying my mini vacation with mom, dad and friends. The pause could have been even longer but I realized fall in Chisinau is so beautiful I have to visit our Central Park, for a few pictures near our Cathedral. It's so nice to remember the teenage square where I used to walk with my friends. Caught some newly weds taking pictures in their wedding day, happy kids with balloons, and other city residents in love with their town.

The colors of the sun and ocean

En: Taking advantage of the last days of summer I decided to rock the colors of the sun and ocean, which I think look good on me. The pleats are one of my favorites too. So basically it's a simple outfit that does not require a lot of accessories as the colors of the main pieces are already strong, the golden buttons of the sweater match the golden frame of the clutch and these two items I consider enough. For the same reason to balance the whole range of colors, I went for nude pumps.

Yayyy! Boot season is here

En: So from the comments some of you left yesterday on the post about the giveaway (please don't forget to enroll for those of you did not do it yet) I found out that you like articles about shoes, quiet normal as we are all women and we crave for goodies. Anyway boot season is here and I want to talk about my problem in finding the right pair of boots. Who would have thought it is so difficult when there is such a huge selection around.

Texas State Fair through Insta camera eye

En: All my friends from Chisinau celebrated yesterday the city's birthday. And because I couldn't be there with them I decided to go celebrate the Texas Fair with my beloved texans. And because we all seem to think the pictures on Instagram look nicer I decided to leave my camera home and just use the phone. I didn't regret it, actually less weight for me to carry around plus instant colorful, edited and shared pics right away. Good causes can't be criticized

En: Thursday night I participated to the 'Drastically Appropriate No. 4 Fashion Show'. A show that is putting together a few years in a row looks from different local stores in Dallas, promoting shopping for guests while raising funds for the non-profit Children's Medical.

A sneaky smile on my face

En: A short and melancholic post in the spirit of the fall, inspired by the beautiful weather we had yesterday evening. Just perfect for a walk by the lake in front of my appartment. Too bad you can't see the ducks, this photography thing where you gotta be aware of the light and shadow, can really make lose other details... You can see a sneaky smile on my face it's because yesterday was a day of the good news, that announced a trip very soon, no more details as I always prefer to reveal the facts only after they happen.

A sunny day of August

En: I found this pictures by chance last night when I was trying to clean my mac. The folder they were lost in was called just like the title of the post a sunny day of August. A day we went with the girls for a walk and a cup of mocha with ice, a stunning bright sun just like Alinka's loafers. Now when I look on the window and I see the fog my soul gets dark, but keeping it contradictory I don't want the summer back any time soon either, it's just so hot in Texas that even the soul feels heavier.

Irresolute October

En: In this post you'll see how I reacted to an unexpected change of weather. Normally in North  Texas we get 45 F by the end of November, but this time October seems to be in a hurry. The leaves didn't get to start falling yet, we keep going with dark green trees and grass.  I woke up Saturday morning with the nice feeling it was raining outside, just perfect for a lazy day in bed with jasmine tea and raspberry jam.

Dallas Street Style in Early Fall

En: Enough talking about me, let's see what else is going on the streets of Dallas this beginning of fall. It seems fashionistas from North Texas don't hesitate to impress, they make me love this city every day more and more. I am proud of this southern New York City.. There is competition, there is love for beautiful things, there are people who care about the way they look, there are people who want to look the best... I'll have to come back with a real fall/winter post because there is no real fall in Dallas, until November, other than that there will still be days when we can wear our short pants. In the meanwhile enjoy and have a fabulous weekend.

Inside my b-day party

En: 'Go girl is your birthday' was the song of the night obviously, it's also one of my favorite songs. I had a nice birthday party with the dearest people around, Alina and Dima as bartenders, so if you see below some too happy faces you know who to blame. I was writing the other day on facebook that I got another kitten for my birthday this time was a cute, white she on the surprise cake, thanks to Alinutsa, Dima and Pramit for the secret conspiration.

This is why I love my birthday

En: Thanks everyone for all the beautiful words I have received for the pat 3 days, they made me very happy, it's good to know there are so many people wishing you the best.  I was telling you in a previous post that I am the kind of girl who usually expects her birthday to come, I like the gifts, the flowers and all the attention I receive. But I don't really like to organize the party itself, sometimes it gets to be too much stress, looking for everything to be perfect, for everyone to feel good, etc.

Funky school look (Firmoo glasses)

En: We all agree that the right accessories can make a whole outfit come back to life, even those items that you were thinking to give away to goodwill. Alinutsa decided today to bring off a pair of glasses that at first sight you'd think they are used for a better vision, actually they are just a funky accessory. If you are still going to school or college this item can definitely make your boring uniform look cooler.

Make your working days brighter and sunnier

En: Today I come with the idea of a stunning color blocking business casual mix, because I want my working days to be brighter and sunnier just like the weekends. I got the yellow blazer in March but because in Texas we don't have much transition from winter to spring it's more of a winter - summer right-away, I didn't get to wear it a lot. Instead we have a long enough transition from summer to autumn, so I think this fall I'll get to wear yellow a lot.

Oktoberfest in Dallas

En: A beautiful Saturday evening with friends, kebab and good beer. I know I was saying yesterday I'd get German sausages, but I guess in my case the Mediterranean taste is better formed. It's my first Oktoberfest ever, never been to any before, saw it just on TV or internet so due to that I expected to see a lot of women wearing the  traditional German/Austrian dirndl and guys in lederhosen,  at all I've seen probably like 3 each, maybe there were more than that, but overall Texans missed this aspect of the fest,  I guess with more practice in a few years we'll see the full park wearing them, in the meanwhile the main interest is the imported beer and outdoor fun (personally I promise next year I'll dress a dirndl).

Shopping list for tomorrow!

En: OMG this polyvore is fantastic, don't laugh, I am a bit slow and I discovered it just now. Thanks to Alina Ceusan, one of my favorite bloggers who recommended it to me. Considering that I am so bad with editing programs it seemed like discovering America for the 2nd time. And now I am all into it like a kid into his first electronic toy.

Some other ideas

 En: Today we continue with other beautiful photos from Saturday, were Lalo tried to make a portrait of Alinka @ Annie Leibovitz style, for a work he had to present at school. I did not study previously the work of this lady, so I cannot pronounce on the result.

Happiness is my second name

En: A pet can really make a picture brighter, it brings smiles, licks faces, a total joy. It was a beautiful Saturday with dear people that resulted in a beautiful pics. More to come with the actual photo shoot with Alinka. Going back to the dog I was telling you she felt in love with it, myself I am a fan of cats.

Hobbies, passions and September

En: My Alinka is becoming a model and Lalo a master photographer. Yesterday we went to take pictures for a work that Lalo has to present at school and Alinka posed for it. With more details about it I'll come next week when we'll have the full result. Today we'll mention the location the shooting took place at, a beautiful home with huge windows, nicely decorated and arranged. Everything seemed to be perfect in that house, just like in a magazine.

The IT bags of the season

En: The stores have already displayed their new collections and propose a huge variety of bags. In my opinion there are a few that are worth to be seen and displayed in our closet. The bag it is a very important accessory that us girls tend to buy a lot. But I guess in every girl's wardrobe there is that IT bag that seems to work out with every outfit at any time and deserves an investment for its quality, originality and comfort (below you can see the bag that I decided to invest in this fall). Personally I have a weakness for these accessories and every time I get into a store I'd look for one, even though I have at home enough to fit any outfit, but you know how we women are: it's never enough.

En: Let's talk today about haircuts. It seems this fall besides army print and leather, the short hairstyle is trendy as well. Otherwise how shall we explain the recent appearances of the 2 of most popular singers of our generation - Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.

Sunday brunch outfit

En: Happy that the temperatures in Dallas went below 30 on Celsius, I took out of the closet a pair of boots. In a hurry to meet Alinka for brunch I grabbed this light black dress and it seemed too easy to just wear it with sandals and I thought I should complete the look with boots.

Dallas Fashion Night Out

En: Michael Kors said the new years eve for a fashionista is not 1st January it's September. This week is all about fashion, shows, catwalks, impressive appearances of celebrities or street stylers. And because I cannot go to New York or Paris I wanted to see what Dallas has to offer regarding this aspect, there must be a reason why they call it 'the New York of the South'.

Ethereal is the word of the day!

En: I wanted to write this article for a long time, basically since my last trip in Moldova in April, when my friend Lucia got married. It's then when I found myself in front of a big dilemma - what to wear for her wedding. As the Made of Honor I wanted to have something special. It's then when I discovered these beautiful creations made by a talented old acquaintance  of mine Diana Brabur.

En: The first day of the fall caught me pretty nostalgic. It seems I miss school, in Moldova 1st of September it's the first day of school.  It used to be an important day for me back in the days, after a 3 months vacation I was anxious to get back to classes, because I wanted to see my colleagues and then because it was shopping time: a new satchel, new supplies and of course a new outfit to wear for the big day - the first day of school that scholar year.

Weekend getaway in Austin

Prima limba in acest post va fi cea Romana, pentru ca azi Moldova implineste 13 ani de cind a revenit la grafia latina si a readus numele corect al limbii; mandra sa o vorbesc, mandra sa o venerez!

Ro: Am avut parte de un weekend superb, spontan si activ saptamana trecuta. Am acceptat invitatia unui prieten de a-i face o surpriza prietenei lui prin a da attend la petrecerea ei de zi de nastere la un restaurant de pe Lake Travis in Austin, unul din cele mai mari puncte de atractie din Texas (am vrut sa prindem apusul, dar am ajuns prea tirziu pentru ca la iesirea din Dallas am prins traficul, asa ca atasez niste imagini de pe net).
